We spoke to Dave about his career in field service with Miele
Tell us about your career with Miele so far
I have been a Field Service Technician for 22 years, working in both Commercial and Domestic appliances. I had been with Miele for 10 years before getting the opportunity to take on a secondment as a Regional Service Manager for the Midlands team, which I covered for 10 months before making a permanent move as a Regional Service Manager for the West London team.
What does being able to move within Miele mean to you?
It’s so important to me, as I strongly believe in Miele being the best in the industry. I always pushed myself to one day work for such an amazing company. Once I got that opportunity, I wanted to push myself even more and knew that the experience I had pick up on my journey would help me to become a manager who could make Miele even more successful.
What do you like most about working at Miele GB?
The family environment and the people I work alongside make coming to work so enjoyable. When I was on the road, I loved the everyday life of a technician, chatting with customers and working on world-class appliances. Now I am off the road I really enjoy sharing the knowledge I have gained as a technician with other technicians, but also the knowledge I now have as a manager.
What advice would you give to someone thinking of joining Miele?
Do it! It will be the best choice you make, with opportunities to progress your career and the people willing to go out of their way to support you in your goals. You really couldn’t wish to work for a better company.
