Tell us about your career with Miele?

My adult working career started at Miele Netherlands (NL) after graduating from Utrecht University and obtaining my master’s degree. I started as a Junior Business Controller to become a Medior Business Controller one year later. After two more years of working in Miele Netherlands, I got the opportunity to work abroad for Miele Great Britain (GB) as a Finance Business Partner. And that’s where we are now.

Why Miele GB?

There are two main reasons why I decided to globally relocate to work in Miele GB. The first reason is that I have a big ambition to develop myself further and climb the corporate ladder to increase responsibilities and challenges. I believe working abroad will give me a huge opportunity to achieve this.

Second, I think it is really valuable to see how businesses operate in different countries / VGs. I have already experienced many similarities, but probably even more differences of which both NL and GB can learn from each other. I really like to be the person that bridges the gap and contributes to the company just by learning from each other’s best practices.

What do you like most about working at Miele?

What I like the most are the people. Everyone – no exceptions – is really friendly and supportive. I have never experienced this before to this extent. On the other hand, Miele is continuously developing, changing and facing challenges due to the global environment, which also makes it really interesting to be part of this company.

What advice would you give to someone thinking of joining Miele?

Just do it! If you like an environment of unlimited support, opportunities and challenges and like to have colleagues that feel like friends or family, Miele is definitely the company to join.
